ScreenWarden for Roku

Terms of Use

Last updated: October 5, 2026

In these terms, "ScreenWarden", "we" and "us" mean the publisher of ScreenWarden for Roku, reachable at help@screenwarden.app. These terms apply to your use of ScreenWarden for Roku (the "app") and the website screenwarden.app (the "site"). By installing or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What the app does

ScreenWarden for Roku runs on a Windows PC and uses Roku's local network control interface to monitor and control Roku devices on your home network, for example to enforce bedtimes, daily app limits and schedules.

2. Your responsibilities

3. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on Windows PCs that you own or control, under the Microsoft Store's terms for the app. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, sell or redistribute the app, except where the law gives you that right regardless of this restriction.

4. No guarantee of enforcement

The app depends on your PC, your network, your Roku devices and Roku's software. Any of these can fail, change or be switched off. We do not guarantee that a limit, bedtime, wake-up routine or schedule will run at the right time, or at all. In particular:

ScreenWarden is a convenience tool. It is not a substitute for parental supervision, and it does not filter or block content.

5. Not affiliated with Roku or Microsoft

ScreenWarden is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roku, Inc. or Microsoft. Roku is a trademark of Roku, Inc. Windows and Microsoft Store are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies. All other names and marks belong to their owners.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The app and the site are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, reliability, availability and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, ScreenWarden and its owners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, missed alarms, missed or failed enforcement, or device behaviour, arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it, or zero if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes how information is handled.

9. Changes and termination

We may update the app, the site or these terms from time to time. We will change the date above when we do. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms. You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and, where federal law does not apply, the laws of the U.S. state in which ScreenWarden is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to these terms or the app will be brought in the courts located in the United States.
