Manage screen time and app use for every Roku in your home.
ScreenWarden for Roku gives you more control over screen time, enforcing custom rules and schedules for every Roku device on your home network. It runs on your own PC, with no account and no cloud.
Requires Windows 10 or later and a PC on the same network as your Roku devices.
What you can do with ScreenWarden for Roku
Set the rules once on your PC. ScreenWarden keeps watching in the background and acts on your Roku devices for you.
Daily app limits
Choose an app, choose a number of minutes. When the time is used up, ScreenWarden sends the Roku back to its home screen.
Bedtime mode
Set a nightly screens-off window per device. Roku TVs are powered off and other devices are returned to the home screen.
Wake-up and launch schedules
Turn a Roku TV on in the morning with your chosen app, or open an app at set times on the days you pick.
Password protection
Lock ScreenWarden behind a password and a backup code, with a log of failed attempts, so settings stay yours.
How it works
ScreenWarden talks to your Roku devices over your home Wi-Fi or wired network. Nothing is sent to the internet.
Install
Get the app from the Microsoft Store on the Windows PC you want to use as your central dashboard.
Find your Roku devices
Scan your network and ScreenWarden lists every Roku it finds. Give each one a nickname.
Set the rules
Add limits and schedules for each device, then optionally set a password to secure your control.
Let it run
ScreenWarden sits in the system tray and enforces your custom rules and schedules while the PC is on.

Frequently asked questions
Can't find your answer? Email help@screenwarden.app.
Which versions of Windows are supported?
ScreenWarden for Roku runs on Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) and Windows 11.
Does the PC need to stay on?
Yes. ScreenWarden runs on your Windows PC, not on the Roku, so rules and schedules are only enforced while the PC is on, awake, and on the same network as your Roku devices. It keeps working from the system tray when its window is closed.
Which Roku devices does it work with?
Roku TVs and Roku players that are on your local network. Bedtime can power a Roku TV off completely. Roku streaming sticks and boxes can't be powered off remotely, so they are returned to the home screen if an app is opened during bedtime hours.
What happens if a Roku's address changes?
ScreenWarden tracks each device by its serial number and re-finds it if your router hands it a new address. For the most reliable results, give each Roku a DHCP reservation in your router.
Where is my data stored, and is anything sent online?
Everything is stored locally on your PC, in your Windows user profile. ScreenWarden only communicates with the Roku devices on your own network. It has no accounts, no ads and no analytics. See the Privacy Policy.
How do I install and update the app?
